The annual historical Sittamgallena Randoli Esala Perahera will take a place for the 49th year on 15 October 2016 and parading the streets in and around the vicinity of the ancient lake and Sittamgallena Raja Maha Vihara Sacred Area, situated in Mulkirigala Elecorate, Hambantota District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka.

Sittamgallena Esela Perahera continues to draw large crowds not only from the Southern Province but also from all parts of the country. The attraction is not only the colourful features of the Randoli Perahera itself but more so the religious activities that leads up to the main event.
The Randoli Perahera is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and colourful pageants in the country. It encompasses about 100 traditional dancing troupes and elephants caparisoned in beautiful attire. The event as a whole, passes on religious and cultural rituals through the generations.
